Privacy Policy

We take your privacy seriously and collect only the minimal data needed to provide the ModBinder service. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.

1. Information We Collect

Account Information

When you sign up for ModBinder using Google sign-in, we receive your email address and name from Google. We need this information to create your account and communicate with you about your subscription and important service updates.

Vehicle and Modification Data

This is the core of what ModBinder does. We store all the information you choose to add, including:

  • Vehicle details (year, make, model, VIN, etc.)
  • Modifications and their details
  • Maintenance records
  • Dyno sheets and results
  • Photos of your vehicles
  • Documents, receipts, and other files you upload
  • Vendor information
  • Notes and other data you enter

Payment Information

All payment processing is handled by Stripe. We never see or store your credit card number, expiration date, or CVV. The only payment-related information we store is your Stripe customer ID, which allows us to manage your subscription.

Usage Information

We collect basic analytics like page views to understand how the Service is used and to improve it. We do not track you across other websites or build advertising profiles.

2. How We Use Your Information

To Provide the Service

We use your data to store and display your vehicle information, process your subscription, and deliver the features you expect from ModBinder.

To Communicate With You

We send account-related emails such as subscription confirmations, payment receipts, and important service updates. We do not send marketing spam or sell your email to third parties.

To Improve the Service

We analyze how features are used in aggregate to understand what works well and what needs improvement. This helps us build a better product for everyone.

3. What We Do NOT Do

We believe in being clear about what we don't do with your data:

  • We do not sell your data. Ever. To anyone. For any reason.
  • We do not share your data with third parties for advertising.
  • We do not track you across other websites.
  • We do not use your data to target ads. ModBinder has no ads.
  • We do not access your content except to provide the Service or if required by law.

4. Data Sharing

We share data only with the service providers necessary to operate ModBinder:

Stripe

Processes all payments. Stripe receives your payment information directly and is responsible for its security. See Stripe's privacy policy for details.

Supabase

Hosts our database and file storage. All your vehicle data, photos, and documents are stored on Supabase infrastructure. Supabase accesses this data only as needed to provide hosting services.

Vercel

Hosts the ModBinder website and application. Vercel processes web requests but does not have direct access to your stored data.

These providers only access data as needed to provide their services. They do not use your data for their own purposes.

Public Sharing

If you create a share link for your vehicle build, that specific vehicle's data becomes viewable by anyone with the link. You have full control over this feature and can disable sharing at any time. Only data for the specific shared vehicle is visible—your other vehicles and account information remain private.

5. Data Retention

We keep your data as long as you have an active account. Your data remains available to you even if your subscription lapses.

Account Deletion: If you delete your account, we permanently delete all your data, including vehicles, modifications, photos, documents, and all uploaded files from our storage. This deletion is immediate and cannot be undone. Make sure to export any data you want to keep before deleting your account.

6. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data:

  • All data is encrypted in transit using TLS/HTTPS
  • Data is encrypted at rest on our database servers
  • Authentication is handled securely through Supabase
  • We follow security best practices for application development

While we take security seriously and implement strong protections, no system is 100% secure. We encourage you to use a strong, unique password and enable any available security features on your Google account.

7. Your Rights

You have control over your data:

  • Access: You can access all your data anytime through the app.
  • Export: You can export your vehicle data using the PDF export feature.
  • Delete: You can delete your entire account and all associated data at any time through your account settings.

8. Cookies

We use essential cookies for authentication and session management. These cookies are necessary for the app to function properly—they keep you logged in and remember your session.

We do not use third-party tracking cookies or advertising cookies. We do not track your browsing activity across other websites.

9. Children

ModBinder is not intended for use by anyone under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make significant changes, we will notify you by email or through a notice in the Service. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
